With attractive décor, a warm welcome, private parking and a position just on the quieter outskirts of Whitby, we know you will enjoy the simplicity and pleasure of dining, drinking and enjoying good company here at the Number 4 Café Bar & Restaurant. We are only a short walk to the seafront and ideal if you are holidaying in the area or enjoying a day out.

The menu which is available to view here on the website, offers a creative blend of traditional British and Mediterranean dishes with influences from across the culinary world, as well as tasty snacks, light lunches and a superb vegetarian selection. We source our ingredients locally wherever possible, so you get the freshest food cooked to order.

The seafood of course is famous in this coastal area and ours is fresh and flavourful. We even bake our own bread, providing not only great tastes, but a wonderful aroma too.

Our varied clientele range from local ‘regulars’ who have become welcome, familiar faces as well as day visitors to the area and those on holiday. We are happy to cater for larger groups and private bookings, just let us know in advance so we can get everything ready for you and your party.

At lunch time, the café bar side of the Number 4 is thriving, with snacks, baguettes, paninis, pastries and lighter meals available to be enjoyed inside or on finer days, the outside tables.

In the evening, we turn down the lights, select just the right background music, lay out the linen and create an ambience that compliments the fine dining on offer. We do all this at the most reasonable prices too.

We are fully licensed and have a choice of sensibly priced wines from around the world to flatter your menu choice.
